Wow Iowa was actually stupid there. They should have just kneeled right outside the end zone.

I like the idea of offering Delgado a troy Glaus-like contract. Hopefully he can still bend enough and run the bases without limping to the point where he’d make sense on an NL contender.

I wouldn’t start him so many games though. Murphy could still get plenty of abs on Carlos D’s rest days.

Jorge Cantu – Could Become Available

Dan Uggla staying could mean the Marlins start taking calls on Jorge Cantu, who as a fifth-year, arbitration-eligible player also is due a huge raise.

To me, its ok that she’s flawed. Its that she’s so arrogant about her positives and isn’t humble at all that bothers me.

I’d like someone to be on the show that’s smarter than her, for once.

The problem with Delgado is I don’t want watch another summer of weak ground balls going through the right side of our infield with both him and Castillo there.

Scott Miller of CBSSports.com is reporting that Atlanta has signed veteran utilityman Eric Hinske to a one-year contract, pending a physical. The 2002 Rookie Of The Year hit .242/.348/.432 in 224 plate appearances with the Pirates and Yankees last season.

Honestly I would took a took a flyer on Nick Johnson and bapitze him in some holy water and hope that every conscievable injury that could happen to the team happened in 2009. You could also see what the RedSox want for Lowell and move him to first.

everyone loves delgado…i love him too

i just hope he comes cheap

the worst part is you cant trust jerry to bench the dude if it aint working

it will be june and he’s OPSing 650 and earning 50% of the incentives already

  71. Comment posted by Ramon on January 5, 2010 at 11:59 pm (#1130991)

Isn’t the risk with Delgado his streakiness though? In 2008, he sucked balls for about a 1/3 of the season until Willie was fired and then he couldn’t stop raking.

To me Delgado is a no-brainer if we can have him at a Glaus-type base salary. We’ll worry about Castillo apart from that decision because he has to go regardless of whether or not we get Carlos D.

I love Delgado but you know there are a lot of things…lots of whispers about him being a bad influence. IMO that’s balderdash, if he controlled the team it was because other guys didn’t.

We gotta bring in Delgado for an incentive laced deal.

  74. Comment posted by DoctorK16 on January 6, 2010 at 12:06 am (#1130993)

I think the press hates Delgado cause he’s own man and doesn’t care what they think about them and this influence bit is probably a cover that but a team with the negativity surrounding them that the Mets have need a little PR boost.

CULIACAN, Mexico — Relief pitcher Luis Ayala was unharmed during an apparent attempted kidnapping by gunmen at his home in the northern Mexico state of Sinaloa.

Martin Robles, a spokesman for the state prosecutors’ office, said investigators believed Ayala was the intended victim, whom police prevented from being abducted.

Robles said gunmen in three vehicles forced their way into Ayala’s home near the city of Los Mochis on Monday by shooting open the door.

Police arrived at the scene after receiving a call to an emergency number, and soldiers dispatched to the scene apparently scared off the assailants.

Neither Ayala nor his family were hurt. He was found handcuffed at the home.
