Eric Simon has far too much time on his hands. He sleeps upside-down, keeps people as pets, and can be found on the internets at Amazin' Avenue or bothered directly at eric@metsgeek.com.

    WILMER!!!!!

He is the man! As a young 17 year old.

Anyone know anything about his glove/arm?

I think he has a good enough arm, but he commits a TON of errors. But so do many people in minor leagues. Again, he’s 17, so dont worry about it. Besides, we don’t need him to be a gold-glover, just a silver-slugger.

I’m not quite sure why people think that Parnell is an option in the major league bullpen come Sept 1. His numbers don’t look very good. What am I missing?

Couple of quick notes as the minor league season draws to a close…

    1. Dillon Gee’s peripherals are pretty impressive. He may not have the best arm in the system, but it looks like he may have the best control. It’ll be good to see him do a full year (or at least the first half of the year) at AA next season.

    2. Suddenly, there seems too be a bit of a logjam at SS in the org. At least at the lower levels. I assume that they’ll want to start Tejada back in the FSL next season - expecting a big jump for the still very young kid his second year at the level. Juan Lagares came back very strong this year, and they absolutely loved the kid before he got hurt. Do they jump him over Tejada (he’s a year or so older) and send him to Binghamton to make room for Wilmer in Savannah? Interesting.
