I know I’m late to the party, but can I just say - how about Pelfrey! The last time he faced the Braves I don’t know if any of us thought he’d make it through the season in the majors and now… :)

Add him to my newly growing list of favorite Mets.

I think there’s nothing bigger than a shutout vs the Nats, what a sign of a team ready to make a run for it

  20. Comment posted by Lunkwill Fook on August 20, 2008 at 10:42 pm (#811926)

They are so AWESOME to beat one of the worst teams ever at home.

  24. Comment posted by Hiro Protagonist on August 20, 2008 at 10:45 pm (#811930)

    Big Pelf!

Who ever would have thought Pelfrey’s biggest concern this year would’ve been the number of innings he logging and not struggling to stay in the majors?

  25. Comment posted by Squadron Nye on August 20, 2008 at 10:46 pm (#811931)

    Where does Juan Samuel stand?

above Tim Bogar but below luis lopez

  28. Comment posted by Athena on August 20, 2008 at 10:50 pm (#811934)

They are pretty amazing, Danny. Confused makes a good point, though. They have a completely different body type from the other divers. It’s startling. But they must be incredibly strong.

  29. Comment posted by Danny on August 20, 2008 at 10:50 pm (#811935)

    That undoubtedly helps, Booey!

  30. Comment posted by Jessica on August 20, 2008 at 10:51 pm (#811936)

  32. Comment posted by Jessica on August 20, 2008 at 10:53 pm (#811938)

Piazza ahead of Straw in the fan vote

  33. Comment posted by DL on August 20, 2008 at 10:54 pm (#811939)

something will have to go very wrong for that 100% subjective list to not change over the next 10 yrs or so

hey guyd whats up ? i was watching BTN and peter gammons said bobby parnell throws 99 ? is that true ?

  39. Comment posted by Danny on August 20, 2008 at 10:59 pm (#811945)

Parnell as a reliever can be 94-95 and supposedly he touched 98 in his last start with New Orleans.

I’ll believe the high 90s when I see it. Parnell was 90-91 as a starter in spring training when I saw him.

Super T, jerry said that Church will not automatically get the starting job back.

He said he likes tatis and the Murphy/Evans platoon. So we’ll see how Jerry eases Chruch back in.

actually jerry said church coming back is going to give tatis a rest, plus evans murphy someone is going down, remeber castillo too

The Marlins were losing yesterday and the game got PPD. With 4.5 Games out, I hope they start winning when they play the Phillies.
