Just wanted to thank each and every one of you who participated in geek weekend for a fabulous time. It was great seeing old friends and making a few new ones as well.
Thank you to the weather gods for the beautiful weather
Thank you to the Pittsburgh Pirates who went gently into the good night Friday and Saturday.
Thank you to the designers of PNC. Beautiful park. Beautiful setting.
Thank you to the Zambelli brothers for the fabulous fireworks displays.
Thank you to Collective Soul for the fun concert and to Phil Vassar (?) for not making us feel guilty about leaving early.
Thank you to Danny. No one collects money better. And thank you to Danny for his acumen at assembling grills. And thank you Danny…..for just being Danny!
Thank you to dep. I honestly couldn’t have done this without you. You were there every step of the way. Thanks for being a terrific and generous human being! And dep, thanks for all the beer and drinks and bringing along Kirk and Jason! We loved them.
Thank you to Luci for the grills and her assistance in grill assembling 101 and her constant pbp of the Philly/Pads game.
Thank you Lunk and Lorraine for knowing the area so well and knowing where to stop to buy everything. And to Lunk for giving me heart palpitations when he realized he had left his tickets at Lorraine’s Mom’s house. ( it all got worked out and the Pirates reissued new tickets)
Thank you 86Forever for being well enough to be there and thank you for your sense of humor…no matter the situation. No Geek Day would be complete without you. And thank you for putting up with Danny and coming regardless….(pause!)
Thank you PHL ( and I loved Ruth!) for that delicious vodka/pineapple concoction. After a few of those I didn’t care that Lunk didn’t have tickets.
Thank you Doc and Mrs. Doc for all the fabulous burgers. And for Mrs. Doc taking care of Danny’s Mr. Met doll to assure the win.
Thank you Benz08 for the yummy sausage and chicken legs.
Thank you Athena and family. Without you we’d have been eating off the ground and wiping our hands on our pants and drinking from beer cans and bottle….how gauche….lol! And Danny would still be in the parking lot trying to figure out where the hell he was.
Thanks metswin2008 (who has the worst sense of direction since Moses led the Israelites out of the desert and made a wrong turn leaving all the damn oil for the Arabs.) Without the charcoal and hot dogs, we might have starved. The wait made us hungrier!
Thanks Zod for being there for me when the bullpen was imploding and for bringing Molly ( the reigning beer pong champ along with Athena’s niece Kate, who beat the pants off the guys!)
Thanks Chris for sharing all my fun moments with me…..meeting Heilman, Maine and Schoenweis and being able to verify that it was all true!
Thanks pj for driving hours on end to get there and allowing us to share some time with a truly great guy.
Thanks Simons for being there. You are a wonderful, witty and courageous human being and we were all thrilled to meet you. You’re number 1!
Thank you dougsisk. Your last minute save during the after game festivities kept the party going with all that beer!
And Confused….you were sorely missed!
For some reason, the parking lot gods frown upon us. I wonder if I offended a parking lot attendant in a previous life? But this year we were well prepared. We called and texted everyone the new location ( thank you Dan Scotto.) No harm, no foul. We all met up without any problems.
And a very special thank you to Eric and Alex. First because they drove me to Pittsburgh.
Second because you are great guys. But mostly because without you, we would not all be friends and have opportunities like this to revel in that friendship. Guys, we all owe you a big debt of gratitude.
And to the New York Mets……you have brought us joy, tears, angst, heartbreak, laughter, disappointment, excitement and ecstasy….but mostly, you have brought us together.
Go Mets!
Thank you all for your friendship, generosity, kindness and terrific fun times. Can’t wait to do it again!
Mostly, thanks to you, shea.
None of this happens without you. None of it.

Thank You Shea Lunk and Danny and everyone else involved for getting all this going. As always its a great tradition and we always have an awesome time. Shame it was only for a weekend. Too bad the Mets cant play in Hawaii for a week, lol
Great post. Many thanks Shea and to everyone else who pitched in. Danny will be assembling grills in his nightmares for weeks.
