Who do you think claimed Washburn and ibanez? Think the yanks grabbed Washburn.

the article said a skanks insider says “the yankees were NOT the team to claim him”

some speculation said Rays for Ibanez

    here’s the article

Maybe the Rays grab Ibanez? But they get last dibs. Not likely he got that far.

Are you home tonight? I want to chat before we leave for Pittsburgh.

    Think the yanks grabbed Washburn.

While Ogre wouldn’t put anything past them, it would be foolish for the Yankees to take on his salary at this point. They’re dead. This year, there are too many obstacles keeping them from the playoffs. And Ogre doesn’t mean injuries. There are just too many teams they need to leapfrog in order to make it and those teams are all actually better. If they don’t recognize that, then they are fooling themselves.

Ogre, the difference between the Mets and Yanks is that yanks have a realistic chance at the WC. The Mets have to win the division or they’re finito.

OK. there are only two… but Ogre still thinks it is more likely they fall behind the Jays (as Ogre predicted before the season started - he had them in fourth but had Boston on top and the Rays in second) than it is that they make the playoffs.

Ogre, the difference between the Mets and Yanks

Ogre wasn’t comparing the two, but they’re essentially in the same position for the WC. Mets are 5.5 out and need to pass St. Louis and Milwaukee while the Yankees are 5 out and behind Boston and Minn. The Mets however are only 1 game out for the division while the Yanks are 8.5 out.

Agreed, Ogre. That’s why I think the Mets have to win the division. I don’t thinks they’ll pass the cards or Brewers in the WC. Well, not the Brewers at least. I never write off the Yanks. It’s come back to bite me in the behind too many times….lol!
