Lugo throws 98 mph with a wicked slider and a drop off the table 81 mph circle change.

In reality, he’s Francisco Liriano, moonlighting for the Mets because the Twins weren’t working hard enough to keep him busy down.

I have no idea how it will work, now that both teams have promoted him to the majors.

I’ll take a peek and see what i can find for ya.

    for now lets just say:

    crappy fastbal
    average slider
    below average curve
    average change

    that’s my guess

If Kunz blows a game, we are going to see a Wally Matthews story about how the Mets see him as their Joba, but he is no Joba.

    We know this will happen.

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, Manitoba - A man accused of beheading and cannibalizing another passenger on a Greyhound bus in Canada pleaded Tuesday in court for someone to “please kill me,” and was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Prosecutor Joyce Dalmyn, who argued for the evaluation, revealed new details about the attack Wednesday night. She said Vince Weiguang Li had a plastic bag containing his victim’s ear, nose and part of a mouth in his pocket when officers arrested him. The only response officers received from him was: “’I have to stay on the bus forever,”’ Dalmyn said.

Li, who immigrated to Canada from China in 2004, is charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of 22-year-old carnival worker Tim McLean — an attack which witnesses aboard the bus said appeared to be unprovoked. He has yet to enter a plea.

    well, he IS our phenom…

    really? Per whom?

Have there been stories for weeks about how he is going to come and rescue the Mets, like there were last year for Joba?

All I’ve read is that he has had a good year, but there are still concerns about his ability to close in the ML at this point.

  18. Comment posted by Kneel Before Zod! on August 5, 2008 at 4:56 pm (#794377)

    lol

i read “phenom” in a blurb earlier. i forget who the author was.

    i know he’s no joba.

fans who objected to him cheering for the Red Sox

i always have felt this is reckless behavior. openly rooting for the visiting team? did he have a death-wish?

  26. Comment posted by Dep on August 5, 2008 at 5:01 pm (#794385)

i dont like the marlins for his first taste neither.

i’d rather go retread type guy there.

we’ll see. he didnt say anything on niese, that was added by me. but perez starting on friday means niese is back in play.

i always have felt this is reckless behavior. openly rooting for the visiting team? did he have a death-wish?

see custer, here’s the thing. I’m all in favor of heckling the ass-hat that does that. But physical attacks? That’s a bit too much.

  28. Comment posted by FMARTin09 on August 5, 2008 at 5:02 pm (#794387)

Eric Beaulac - the Mets 6th round draft choice started his first game
for the Kingsport Mets and hit 98mph. He pitched 4 innings giving up
only 1 run. The next franchise?

    he is our joba watch

  29. Comment posted by Ed in Westchester 2.0 is an optimistic yahoo on August 5, 2008 at 5:03 pm (#794388)

I’d like us to just once catch lightning in a bottle with a young pitching prospect and have him come up and dominate right away.
Been a long time since that has happened.

WHY HAVE THE BASEBALL GODS FORSAKEN US????????????????????

  30. Comment posted by Dep on August 5, 2008 at 5:03 pm (#794389)

I like Bealac a lot. certainly someone to watch. i think he projects better as a reliever, but i like him.

  31. Comment posted by bcuster on August 5, 2008 at 5:03 pm (#794390)

i agree, ed. but the sox fan was stupid for openly cheering like i’m sure he did

  32. Comment posted by FMARTin09 on August 5, 2008 at 5:04 pm (#794391)

what about parnell …..he went last friday so thats a no go….other option i guess would be vargas

  33. Comment posted by Ed in Westchester 2.0 is an optimistic yahoo on August 5, 2008 at 5:04 pm (#794392)

    I don’t want a Joba watch
    Or the next Jeter
    Or the next Mo

I don’t want my guys compared to any skanks.

The media likes to float that shit so they have an angle.

Let our guys be our guys. Don’t compare them to skanks.

  34. Comment posted by Dep on August 5, 2008 at 5:05 pm (#794393)

parnell was in the mix. omar went to that start to check him out. he pitched ok, not horrible, not great.

Vargas is the most likely option IMO.

I think Niese will get a start soon, but not that one.

but ya NEVER KNOW. we are pushing the kids like crazy now. i dig it

  35. Comment posted by Ed in Westchester 2.0 is an optimistic yahoo on August 5, 2008 at 5:07 pm (#794394)

Well, the thing with Vargas and Figgy is this. The dudes have only been doing well against retreads in AAA. Guys that are hanging on hoping some GM will be desperate enough to give them a shot over some more deserving player who is doing well at AA.

    /end ###
