Delgado might end up 2nd on this team in OPS which would be an unbelievable surprise.
It could happen. Though this would be that he kills the ball for the rest of the season to catch up to Jose’s mark. That is unless Jose falters down the stretch, but I will perish that thought.

It’s neat that we have Reyes locked up through 2011 at a criminally low salary.

Somehow, this article just made me so much less sure of Maine’s status. It is so obvious the mets have no clue what they are talking about sometimes…
Reyes has no chance to win MVP, but hopefully he plays well enough to deserve it and for me to get pissed off that he doesn’t win it.
In all honesty, I cannot see how he would catch up to Ramirez. The man is a beast at the plate and his defense is so choice. There is also Lance-alot of XBHs and walks to compete against too.

Hanley’s defense is horrible, Ramon.

PHUCK YOU HANLEY!
Not sure if SNY cameras caught it, but Jose Reyes and Hanley Ramirez looked like they got tangled and were unable to separate after Ramirez was forced out at second in the fifth on an inning-ending double play. Reyes said Ramirez grabbed him and wouldn’t let go, but was just playing around.

That was from Adam Rubin. Why does Jose always think the Fish are joking? They HATE the mets!
Um, mookie, maybe you are reading too much into that “spat”.

Defensive metrics are not that great. Watch Hanley play defense. He’s tremendously erratic. He’s got decent range, but bah hands and a pretty erratic arm.

Does WARP reward people for position, Dep?
Because if so, Utley gets an unfair bump for 2nd base.

So he’s David Wright. The GG 3rd baseman for the Mets, right?

David actually has great hands.

Hanley is not fluid at SS at all. He’s a third baseman or a CF.

I believe so danny, i think the replacement level is positional

Haha, no ramon, I don’t think Hanley was seriously going after Jose there. But don’t forget about his insistence about how much he hated the mets during the final series last year. I still can’t get over his “I hate the mets so much I’m gonna play no matter what” comments

By the way, if you are talking about RZR as the defensive metric that ranks Hanley ahead of Jose, it also ranks Uggla over Orlando Hudson by a significant margin.

Berkman WARP 11.3
Utley still at 11.7 believe it or not

Just to put defensive metrics into perspective.
So Hanely Ramirez is almost a GG caliber player….
HAHAHAHA. Thanks for the laugh. On that note, I’m out - beauty sleep!
I’m off too. Night all!
I have seen you use metrics all of the time, Danny. Now you don’t use them because they don’t fit what you see?
