Is it just me or does the lineup look alot better with Castro/Tatis then with Shcneider/Anderson?

Today would be a good time for Nick’s first MLB homerun.

BTW, did you guys know that the phans call schneider a phillie-killer? LOL

Yeah, I saw that today. I have NO idea what they’re talking about.

fan said the lineup - i was so surprised about evans in the 2 spot i missed the order of things, sorry

that’s hysterical. I reacted the same way. I didn’t hear anything past that until Evan said…..no Marlon!

  4. Comment posted by Dep on July 24, 2008 at 11:16 am (#778452)

Snido actually had a good game yesterday

I’m trying to lay him off for a bit lol

    (yes)

.783 lifetime OPS for Schneider against Philly. I suppose that’s better than his career averages but it isn’t exactly in “killer” territory.

  6. Comment posted by Lunkwill Fook on July 24, 2008 at 11:18 am (#778454)

He does have more RBI’s career, by far, against the Phillies than any other team.

  7. Comment posted by john on July 24, 2008 at 11:18 am (#778455)

I sort of feel bad for him. I mean……we knew he couldnt hit before he even came here lol.

As long as he “calls a good game” we should be ok with him :)

  8. Comment posted by Dep on July 24, 2008 at 11:18 am (#778456)

wow. he becomes an actual ML hitter vs them!?!?!?!?

    nice! ;)

  9. Comment posted by Pat Andriola on July 24, 2008 at 11:18 am (#778457)

Yeah, I saw that today. I have NO idea what they’re talking about.

Because he got that double in Game 1 of the 10-game win streak that put the Mets ahead and won it.

Evan needs to relax those lip muscles. Dude looks like a Large mouth bass. Wet his lips and you can stick him on the back of your car window. Weird looking dude.

  11. Comment posted by mookie03 on July 24, 2008 at 11:19 am (#778459)

his avg against them must be pretty high though - i feel like all his multi hit games have been against the phils. Even if they are mostly singles, it is still more than he does against other teams

  12. Comment posted by Dep on July 24, 2008 at 11:19 am (#778460)

Evans is a weird looking dude

ND looks like he wears makeup too

  13. Comment posted by sheadenizen on July 24, 2008 at 11:20 am (#778461)

Maybe Snido will mistake the cardinal red on the unis for the Phils red and play well against them this weekend. Shhhhhh….no one tell him the Phils left town.

  14. Comment posted by mookie03 on July 24, 2008 at 11:21 am (#778462)

lol, i kinda like schneider (sorry dep!) - i like him more than PLD anyway. I like having a catcher who can throw runners out and i think his defense will get better now that he is adjusting to the new pitching staff.

He also walks a decent amount so he produces at least a little :)

    This is SO true. HA!

    LOL, dats ok mook :)

I’m trying not to hate him, he makes it hard sometimes. not last nite though!

Is bcuster still around? he’ll probably be calling for Heilman to start Saturday. Not too many alternatives, looks like Lugo may be it, or Brandon Knight.

    espn fantasy focused chat:

Matt (Campbell, Ca): What can we tell from Brett Myers’ outing last night? I picked him up for upside but it doesn’t look like he’s figured anything out.

SportsNation Eric Karabell: (11:05 AM ET ) I disagree. He didn’t allow any home runs, so that’s a great sign. Then again, he walked four straight hitters in the first inning. I am not on this bandwagon one bit, by the way. I watched him pitch in the minors and he was merely OK. His velocity is still not up to 2006 levels, or what he did in bursts while closing. Ultimately, not this season, he’ll be a reliever.

  19. Comment posted by Dep on July 24, 2008 at 11:25 am (#778467)

    hahahaha, suck it eric!

Ryan (Boston): Am I wasting a Roster spot stashing Duaner Sanchez for saves? Is Wagner’s shoulder going to flare back up?

SportsNation Eric Karabell: (11:14 AM ET ) Yeah, that’s wasting a roster spot, because Wagner looked fine Wednesday, and even if he isn’t, I would expect the Mets to make some wild desperate trade.

Bcuster still posts regularly, not sure he’s been on today yet though.

    you remember him well! ;)

Is Knight already gone for the Olympics or can we choose him?

I honestly read somewhere that Brian Stokes is the leading candidate

  22. Comment posted by C needs a LOWenbrau on July 24, 2008 at 11:27 am (#778470)

ND just has perfect skin, I think he wears clinique.

    Speaking on un-masculine looks……

ever seen Burrell get fooled by swinging at a Pedro or Santana Change-up.

    Hatttttttttted It!

  23. Comment posted by C needs a LOWenbrau on July 24, 2008 at 11:29 am (#778472)

I can easily summons BCuster by re-living my hang out with Heilman night…lol

  24. Comment posted by Gus Gloom on July 24, 2008 at 11:30 am (#778473)

stokes pitched monday so that would work out.

  25. Comment posted by Gus Gloom on July 24, 2008 at 11:32 am (#778474)

I was hoping they’d give it to Neise, he’s having a good year.

  26. Comment posted by mookie03 on July 24, 2008 at 11:33 am (#778475)

has stokes been good? i’d probably prefer armas, vargas or fig - didn’t armas do pretty well against the cards a few weeks ago? i can’t remember

Is hampton supposed to pitch against the phils this weekend? that would be fun

  27. Comment posted by Kneel Before Zod! on July 24, 2008 at 11:33 am (#778476)

    just finished Catch-22

    Orr made to to Sweden!

    LOL @ Nately’s whore

    great book

  28. Comment posted by john on July 24, 2008 at 11:34 am (#778477)

Yeah im guessing Armas, Vargas or Figs.

I doubt they give it to Knight or Stokes

Zod, probably my #1 book of all time. Watch the movie version. It’s weird and oddly different but Arkin makes a perfect Yossarian.

  31. Comment posted by mookie03 on July 24, 2008 at 11:38 am (#778481)

lol at jerry. Unless there’s a big trade (pauses and cracks himself up for a few seconds), saturday’s starter will be someone in our system.

    Ya think?! :)

  32. Comment posted by Dep on July 24, 2008 at 11:39 am (#778485)

yup, that was a big part of why he was the leading candidate in what i read.

either rubin or newsday had it

  33. Comment posted by Dep on July 24, 2008 at 11:40 am (#778487)

    Stokes has been ok.

    I’d rather see Vargas

  34. Comment posted by Gus Gloom on July 24, 2008 at 11:41 am (#778490)

Yeah im guessing Armas, Vargas or Figs

    armas DL
    vargas pitched yesterday
    fig pitched tuesday

  35. Comment posted by Gus Gloom on July 24, 2008 at 11:49 am (#778500)

I’m beginning to think it may be niese, he’s supposed to start today, every other game in the EL has the probable starters listed except the BMets.

  36. Comment posted by C needs a LOWenbrau on July 24, 2008 at 11:49 am (#778501)

Niese must not be traded in any deal, no matter what. The fact that he was born on the day the mets won Game 7 of the 86 WS means way to much too me. He was born to be a met. He stays!

  37. Comment posted by Gus Gloom on July 24, 2008 at 11:51 am (#778506)

He’s doing better than any of the pitchers that went in the santana trade, and he’s pitched more innnings as well.

  38. Comment posted by Pat Andriola on July 24, 2008 at 11:54 am (#778514)

I will beg and plead for Brandon Knight to start Satuday

  39. Comment posted by Pat Andriola on July 24, 2008 at 11:55 am (#778515)

I hope I’m wrong, but I have a bad feeling about Nick Evans in the 2 hole today. He can’t seem to hit pitches under 85 MPH.

PS- Is there a team rule or something that the 2 hitter in the lineup has to suck? Or is it just coincidence.

  40. Comment posted by Gus Gloom on July 24, 2008 at 11:57 am (#778517)

but they claim it was set by the GM

  42. Comment posted by Pat Andriola on July 24, 2008 at 11:58 am (#778523)

Umm is Eric Bruntlett starting now for the Phils or is my gameday whacky?

  43. Comment posted by C needs a LOWenbrau on July 24, 2008 at 11:59 am (#778525)

PS- Is there a team rule or something that the 2 hitter in the lineup has to suck?

Yeah, I hate when our pitcher bunts runner(s) over just so that Reyes can get the 4 sign from the opposing manager.
