Knight was last in the Yankees system in 2002. He was an Independent League guy.

He’s putting up CRAZY numbers. We might need to take a look at him.

Flores getting hurt already would be typical Mets luck.

Dock Doyle with a nice 4-5 to get his average up to 295

Holdzkom didnt pitch too poorly. not great, but not horrible

  21. Comment posted by Danny on July 20, 2008 at 12:00 am (#771508)

Doyle is not hitting for any power but his OBP is a nice .378

    dammit

Brooklyn Cyclones designated hitter Reese Havens left the game due to an injured leg.

  31. Comment posted by Danny on July 20, 2008 at 12:03 am (#771514)

I irrationally blame Holdzkom for not having Betances, that’s all.

I’s not his fault, but I would still buy the banana for him.

  32. Comment posted by Danny on July 20, 2008 at 12:04 am (#771515)

    Dammit on Havens

Murphy is putting up sick stats. If he can even play a passable second base, we could have something.

i dont think so. i only really know his name just from box scores. not too much about him at all.

did not know he throws 96! that’s awesome.

not that many K’s for throwing so hard. secondary stuff development and that whole deal?

we better fucking win tomorrow. losing 3 here would be a bad first step back out of the gate.

danny, i totally hear ya on the pelfrey being due for a not so great start. hope its his next one! ;)

  48. Comment posted by Danny on July 20, 2008 at 12:09 am (#771525)

That’s my assumption, Dep. He’s holding his own as a 19 year-old in Savannah.

His control has gotten A LOT better since last year. He might just be learning how to command better now. Probably throwing too many hittable strikes.

  49. Comment posted by Danny on July 20, 2008 at 12:10 am (#771526)

Splitting with the Reds in Cincy is a decent result. Losing 3 out of 4 would be really bad.

you know i didnt even look at his age when i peeped his numbers. thanks for pointing that out.

its awesome that he’s holding his own at 19, awesome

Some of you watching the game might notice an addition to Jose Reyes. The Mets shortstop got a new tattoo over the All-Star break.

Reyes had a spiderweb tattooed on his left elbow on Monday. He said it took about an hour and 20 minutes and it was very painful. Reyes said he could barely move his arm on Tuesday but it’s fine now.

    http://blogs.nypost.com/sports/mets/archives/2008/07/reyes_new_ink.html

ehhh whatever, personally i’m not a fan of the whole spiderweb on the elbow thing. andruw jones has it too right? but whatever, i love me some jose

of course the thread where i read this turned into a jose’s tattoo is causing his mini slump BLAH BLAH BLAH. that line about his arm on tuesday probly set it off LOL

Yeah, I’m not a big fan of that tattoo but dude’s his own man.

I would prefer the tats in the offseason but whatever!

guys what do you think we should do go for it and trade what we have for a bay , holliday or nady or stand pat and let the chips fall where they may

  67. Comment posted by Danny on July 20, 2008 at 12:27 am (#771539)

I’m 100% against trading Fernando! and you don’t get one of those dudes unless you start the package with him.

If the prices were to come down a little bit I would be interested, but I would rather get a Blake/Ibanez/Winn type who won’t cost you as much.
