I mean, the thing is… like…
The key to being significantly more than mediocre is having a team that’s consistently able to win without either having the offense go nuts or having the starting pitching be lights out.
If Reyes/Wright/Beltran is collectively on fire, the Mets win.
If one of the starters hurls a gem, the Mets win.
And otherwise, they don’t really figure out how to overcome neither of those things happening very often.
I mean, the old cliche “it is what it is”.

i refuse to give up on this season with so much time left and a unremarkable deficit to make up, but games like this are just frequent enough for me to believe otherwise

I dunno, DL, sometimes you gotta just learn to stop worrying and love the logic-bomb. It’s kinda freeing.

LOL Beltran. Plays great for 1 week and then stinks for 3 weeks. Wish we could trade him right after we bench Delgado.

I’m glad I got home late and didn’t watch this mess

Hanley just took Rauch deep in the 9th to tie that game

Hanley, seriously:
Please stop hitting home runs, and steal more bases. Just a little less muscle in that swing, okay?

Looks like the Mets bats blew their load Friday afternoon and will take a week to recharge.
Go Rays!
Er, oops.
gary thinks they are INVINCIPHIL
loser
LOL i hate reyes!!!
gary too
i wish someone would call in and pretend to be somebody that went to high school with gary and bullied him around
that would make me laugh
haha glaus is paying for this win
go mets!!
I’m going to call in as Keith’s conscience
pelfrey has walked the park his last 2 starts
lol @ pounding the strike zone
i wonder how long the delay is.
pretend to be an old coke connection or buddy. that’s a good one too
keith has been up for 3 days
I changed to ESPN.
That’s how much I hate the call-in segments.
gary is starting to get on my nerves a bit
you’re the lifeblood of our blow-out games! LOL
gary’s a dick
Oh, hahaha, the game is playing on ESPN too.
I NEVER GIVE UP.
Jimmy V disciple
the cardinals have a lot of white dudes on their team.
is it racial? i dont know.
i feel like the entire team is white. i dont even see pooh or yadihair
Jeez - guess I didn’t much bein’ on airplanes for 2 days straight . . . 4 runs in the last 4 games if we don’t score in the 9th . . .
What was once 60-40 .600 is now looking more like 50-30 .625 or is it? The Phils are only on pace for 86 wins.
Havens 0-2 w/2 k’s in his debut, Ike 1-2 so far tonight .263 in his first few.
remember in Oz when the aryan brotherhood guy get’s his gums replaced by a black guy’s?

What a buzzkill this game is
I’ll have to work extra hard to plow through it
brian barton is our only african american player I believe…

oh yes zod
that’s some good stuff
YOU AND ME GONNA SPOON
haha i didnt realize it’s the 9th
Well, this game sucked
fireworks? take it easy, st. louis.
they could let us bat another 9 and i’m not sure we’d get 7.
try again tomorrow
put it down in your ledger!
Is it just me or does 2 under .500 feel more like 20 under?
see now if this was wrestling, kyle lohse would get a big 10-2 podium and go stand on it and mock johan and johan would steel chair him.
good stuff.
when do we start thinking about moving maine to the bullpen?
ahahahahahahah

i dont know, michael j. fox doesnt look so tough now, does he?
ha, that was awful
i blame beltran
i was only talking about teen wolf and his clutch free throw shooting, i bet beltran would still strike out even after becoming the wolf
lol jon rauch you suck and probably smell too
You know what ruined “Teen Wolf Too”? A cameo by a young Carlos Beltran.
dickie v, true rays fan *eyeroll*
LOL, the Royals put Callaspo on the DL after he was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Can they do that?
Only if he has a really bad hangover.
HAHAHAHAA what a terrible call by that marlins announcer
Maybe he had a really epic hangover, PHL.
