    Jeez - guess I didn’t much bein’ on airplanes for 2 days straight . . . 4 runs in the last 4 games if we don’t score in the 9th . . .

What was once 60-40 .600 is now looking more like 50-30 .625 or is it? The Phils are only on pace for 86 wins.

Havens 0-2 w/2 k’s in his debut, Ike 1-2 so far tonight .263 in his first few.

see now if this was wrestling, kyle lohse would get a big 10-2 podium and go stand on it and mock johan and johan would steel chair him.

    good stuff.

that might have been gun play..

  37. Comment posted by littlefallsmets on June 30, 2008 at 10:00 pm (#746429)

    I mean, the thing is… like…

The key to being significantly more than mediocre is having a team that’s consistently able to win without either having the offense go nuts or having the starting pitching be lights out.

If Reyes/Wright/Beltran is collectively on fire, the Mets win.

If one of the starters hurls a gem, the Mets win.

And otherwise, they don’t really figure out how to overcome neither of those things happening very often.

I mean, the old cliche “it is what it is”.

i refuse to give up on this season with so much time left and a unremarkable deficit to make up, but games like this are just frequent enough for me to believe otherwise

    Hanley, seriously:

Please stop hitting home runs, and steal more bases. Just a little less muscle in that swing, okay?
