Johan Santana vs Andy Pettitte

(Baseball-Reference.com Preview)

Eric Simon has far too much time on his hands. He sleeps upside-down, keeps people as pets, and can be found on the internets at Amazin' Avenue or bothered directly at eric@metsgeek.com.

Once you get past Beltran in the lineup the rest of the lineup reminds me of an expansion team.

Its not easy to dominate lol.

If people think he was just going to come here and dominate then they were expecting too much.

I’ll take this with occasionally dominate starts mixed in.

This may be the worst lineup ive ever seen. The Mets I watched as a kid with Doug Flynn, Pat Taveras and Alex Trevinio were more potent. Our offense sucks

Next year Omar better get us some offense or im not even stepping foot in that crappy new stadium. lol

no john it isn’t easy to dominate, but he has only one dominating start this year and he lost that one, in fact he hasn’t dominated at shea yet……..oh wait yes he did last year when he pitched a complete game shutout vs. the mets…..thats the pitcher i am looking for

Can we call up all these young kids and just let them get some swings. Cant be any worse than the Trot Nixon/And Phillips/Fernando Tatis thing we have going on right now, lol.
Chris, cheer up brother. When your feeling down remember these 6 words. New York Giants Super Bowl Champions!!!

I just hope whoever is the gm next year or Omar or whoever does something to change the dynamics of this team. We need patient hitters, who work the count and get on base. We dont need all stars at every position just quality major leaguers. Id be happy with a bunch of Fukodomes. That guy impressed me the way he worked the pitcher. Im not giving up on the year, just looking ahead

but what if he only ends up winning 15-16 games a year with ERAs around 3.20? that would really suck!

Ha, right now Steve Traschel and his 15 wins in 2006 are looking like Sandy Koufax stats, huh?

trax always just knew how to win, i’m not sure i see the same out of johan thus far, he doesn’t know how to bear down and just gut out those 9-7 victories

  34. Comment posted by metswin2008 on June 28, 2008 at 9:23 pm (#744487)

No doubt dl. Johan could use that grit and determination that Trax had. I think Trax learned from Yankee Killer Victor Zambrano. So you know he was the real deal

  35. Comment posted by FMARTin09 on June 28, 2008 at 9:23 pm (#744488)

  37. Comment posted by metswin2008 on June 28, 2008 at 9:25 pm (#744490)

Nah, not really FMart. I plan on hitting some games this coming year. Ive kinda gotten out of hockey the last few years.
