Eric Simon has far too much time on his hands. He sleeps upside-down, keeps people as pets, and can be found on the internets at
Amazin' Avenue or bothered directly at
eric@metsgeek.com.
Nice night for F-Mart. Good to see some decent starting pitching for a change. A few more good starts for Vargas may mean bye bye to Pelfrey.

The Hitting Machine is starting to turn the mutha’ out!
Pascucci looks like he might be a viable RH bat of the bench. *crosses fingers*
Pascucci’s the kind of guy I always wonder about — could he have been a star if given the right opportunity? He consistently showed plus power and good plate discipline, and then after 62 ABs, the Nats cut him. What would he have been capable of, if he’d caught a better break?
As a writer/editor, I always think about how one of the great modern novels is probably sitting in an old farmhouse attic somewhere, never having been published. And then they burn the barn down to put out a Starbucks.
Anyway, Pascucci is the same age as Ryan Church, and we think of him as fairly young. Maybe we have Delgado’s bridge to Duda right there.
Muniz is pitching well; only 5 hits and no runs allowed in 12 innings of work. Anyone know where Pascucci come from?
Answered my question before I even had the opportunity to post it. Thanks, Tim.
Then again, he’s been cut so much…there’s got to be something people don’t see in him.
Pascucci has trouble hitting a lot of pitches. He doesn’t project well to the big leagues. Still, I would like to see that proven, and he’s probably more useful than Angel Pagan.
