I love being my own boss. I could never go back to the corporate world now.

I’m now working for the company I interned for last summer. I had plenty of down time to spend here then, but it’s a whole different world now.

im not supposed to be on it much at all……when we got to our new location the audit manager said go on only to check email lol. I go on just a tiny bit more then that lol

But……..I figure if others can use their “free time” talking to ppls about absolutely nothing for hrs then I can use my time on here lol. I rationalize it by saying I dont talk to anyone on my audit team about anything other then the audit work so if they can use time to talking about getting their nails done or whatever it is they talk about, then I can come here and talk baseball :)

My job has just gotten weird and weirder over the last 18 months or so. We used to do our work and get left alone, now we have 8 million meetings and teams and all kinds of corporate politics and shit. This whole professional appearance crap was basically corp speak from the media/business side of the group as you damn lazy programmers can’t churn out enough code fast enough for us. We used to have basically flex time, come in when you want do your work and leave and we all did that, but that’s gone now too.

Those of you lucky enough to not have deal with it enjoy. I’m getting shit on extra heavy because I’m the process of a career shift and I’m in school and people know, even though I tried to keep it quiet as possible so now I’m suspect from the media side.

Id love mine to be flex time like that. Right now I actually have to call the office if I wanna take lunch at say 12:30 or 1:00 instead of the “standard 12″

    Factoid:

This yr the Mets have only scored double digits in runs
    when castillo is batting 2nd.

sarah, i was joking about the beltran thing. he hit homeruns during pedro’s first few starts and people made a big deal out of it. i hope that schneido has a positive effect on pelfrey, but i don’t think he can account for the major differences.

Wasn’t that Beltran superstition in 2006??

i hope that schneido has a positive effect on pelfrey, but i don’t think he can account for the major differences.

Probably not, but it’s something to watch out for just in case. If it’s true - great, it shouldn’t be too difficult to arrange for Schneider to catch Pelfrey as often as possible. Whatever it takes to get a W. If it’s not true we’ll be back where we started in trying to figure out the mystery that is Mike Pelfrey.

I dont believe the whole catching making the pitcher better theory EXCEPT in times where the pitcher has gone out of the way to say catcher Y is helping me big time. Pelfrey has done that. I dont think its a huge difference and maybe the difference is just in Pelfreys head but I do think the results with Schneider will be different in Pelfreys case then with Cassanova.

Theres been pitchers all the time who prefer certain catchers. So if these pitchers believe that a catcher has a certain effect i think it would be silly for us to dismiss that…….having said that the amount of difference I believe is small. Its not going to turn pelfrey into a star or even an average pitcher
