Another HR if the game was in CBP. How many have the Mets hit this series? 6?

That was just a minor infatuation, PJ. Johan is the love of my life!! (I have a bit of a “thing” for pitchers.)

Jae Seo is clearly the best pitcher on the Mets and one of the top pitchers in the league. The Mets are lucky to have such a great and classy pitcher on their team.

Comment posted by Ken on December 6, 2005 at 3:03 pm (#20457)

I predict Seo will be a 20 game winner this year and will make the all-star game now that the Mets have better hitters. A classier player in baseball can’t be found.

apparently the streak started in a gmae when kendrick beat pelfry, so it was natural that the cycle would end this way. we will win the next 8 too.

How did Pelfrey look? I saw his boxscore, it was good enough. He sure did throw alot of pitches for 5 innings of work though. Was his fastball flat in the zone or did it have a nice movement?

He had nice movement early on it seemed. Like Chris said that 3rd inning seemed to take a bit out of him. He was leaving some pitched in the zone after that but got away with it.

You know Ramon, Pelfrey was afraid. I liked how he pitched earlier on and I think we would of gotten more out of him had the 3rd inning been quicker. The third inning got him the win though so we got to take that over the more effective Pelfrey

  74. Comment posted by sheadenizen on April 9, 2008 at 10:30 pm (#650996)

  79. Comment posted by HAH! on April 9, 2008 at 10:32 pm (#651000)

Thank you metswin and Chris. I would love to see Pelf follow this up with another strong start the next time around. Sosa pitched well it seems.

Depends on who gets injured during the course of the season and then on how Willie uses the remaining peices. So far the injury to Wise is most inopportune and I keep waiting on baited breath for Sanchez to return strong.

Yankees are losing. Man, I though KC could be good, but this is one hell of a start. Is it that the Royals are that much better from last season or that the Tigers and Yankees aren’t that good? Probably a bit of both.

  86. Comment posted by sarah on April 9, 2008 at 10:42 pm (#651006)

    Hey all.

Interesting game we had tonight. Not the prettiest victory, but I’ll take them any way we can get them!

The broadcasters sounded very optimistic on Sanchez…one can hope!

  87. Comment posted by HAH! on April 9, 2008 at 10:43 pm (#651007)

Sanchez is moving up to AAA Ramon.

Baby steps, baby steps. I wonder how much longer until he makes it up and Muniz goes back down?

Sosa threw his fastball and threw strikes while getting lefties out. It was nice

He’s really weird. There are outings where he looks like he doesn’t have a clue on how to finish an inning and then there are other outings where he pitches up and down a lineup once without surrendering a run for a couple of innings. I hope Sanchez and Wise come back so that Willie doesn’t have to overdepend on him and can use him as bridge for middle innings when guys like el Duque, Pedro, and Pelfrey can’t reach the sixth inning or Perez begins to meltdown similar to the way he used Oliver in 2006.

  96. Comment posted by HAH! on April 9, 2008 at 11:03 pm (#651015)

Actually I picked the Royals to make some noise in the AL Central. Good for them, they are my underdog pick this season in baseball like the Giants were in the NFL and the Hornets are in the NBA.

I read we will pick up Vargas. Does anyone know if where Wes Helms is and why we haven’t signed him yet?

Mr. Pelfrey don’t gotta not bend, he’s just gotta not break.

We don’t need an All-Star yet, we just need a dude who can go out there and keep his ERA under five.

As long as HE knows that, he’s gonna be fine.

Helms was designated for assignment by the Phillies on April 2nd[1] and on April 5th was traded back to his old club, the Florida Marlins with the Phillies paying all of Helms’s 2008 salary and the Marlins covering Helms’s 2009 option or buyout.[2]

    White Sox at Orioles
    Angels at Royals

    Brew Crew at DBacks
    Marlins at Cardinals
