With the regular season right around the corner, we are gearing up for another great year here at MetsGeek. As we did last year, we will be running a game recap thread following each Mets game, containing a game writeup, boxscore and Haiku, plus maybe some new goodies for 2008.
We already have our Haiku guru ready to roll (thanks, Howard!), but we are looking for two or three people who would be willing to contribute game recaps on a regular basis. Requirements:
- Excellent spelling and grammar
- Ability to work within a deadline
- Sense of humor a plus
It’s not a paying gig, but we will probably be able to share some of the Mets swag we accumulate from time to time. It’s also a good opportunity to have your work read by a couple thousand people every day.
Anyone interested in the position should send a sample recap of a recent Mets’ spring training game to recaps@metsgeek.com. Samples should be between 500 and 1,000 words, or somewhere thereabouts. Thanks!

Eric Simon has far too much time on his hands. He sleeps upside-down, keeps people as pets, and can be found on the internets at
Amazin' Avenue or bothered directly at
eric@metsgeek.com.

Hey, Bob, at least you’re not using all capital letters anymore!
That may be the best post from Bob, yet ;-)

Does this mean that Simons is not doing it this year? He was so awesome last year.
Um…like, concidar me you’re man.
Even if I possessed anywhere near the required skills, spelling, grammar, aptitude, and over a 3rd grader’s sense of humor I only get paid to do nothing… not vice versa ;)
