Chris, that’s awesome. I’m taking a course on regression and multivariate data analysis, and I plan on using baseball stats as the data for my assignments

I just finished taking statistics for social data analysis and I enjoyed the part of the course that I leanred about Multivariate data analysis. In my final report (finding a correalation between infant death rates and per capita income in Cali), I wasn’t able to use multivariate data analysis. It was the first study I had ever conducted that I actually had a strong correalation.

For my first assignment in the class, we just had to do a simple regression. I did ERA vs WHIP, and I was surprised to find that WHIP is not as strong a predictor of ERA as you might think. For my next assignment, I have to do a multiple regression with at least 4 predictor variables. I’m thinking of trying to predict team attendance based on things like payroll, previous season’s record, age of the stadium, etc.

I would have to think about it bob since they are really different players from what they do at the plate and the positions they play. I just like JOhnson and always have. Maybe it is bc he reminds me of Keith when healthy of a 1b who hits for avg and knows how to play.

Bob,

I’m taking it for credits - it’s not in either one of my majors, but it’s a class I need to take for the field I plan on going into (otherwise I would have to take an online course of some sort on the subject once I get a job).
