took my Nephew (7) to his first hockey game last night...Blackhaws...gloves dropped 1 minute in and I lifted him up on my shoulder and he pounded the glass like a little shitbumb....great game but we lost 2-1...he might be hooked.

Classic. I'm going to try my darnest to get tickets in front of the glass since no one will be going to see the Thrashers anymore

Korner for Kiner?

The legendary Ralph Kiner will be returning to the Mets broadcast booth for the 41st season, working his regular SNY sked.

Moles say there could be a twist for Ralphie. SNY brass is considering bringing back the spectacular "Kiner's Korner."

Stay tuned.

you can never go back

It'll never be McCarver and Kiner on WWOR, losing whole track of entire innings, talking about Seinfield episodes the night before, drunker than poets on Saint Drunk Poets Day.

That stuff SHAPED me.

nytimes reposted an op-ed from bellichek in 2003 addressing the coaches of the two teams playing for the nfl championship: Raiders v Buccaneers! How far these teams have fallen in 7 years?

Hey P - Even better, the LA Times once wrote an article about Al davis having "lost his mind"...the reason..he was considering hiring Belichek (at the urging of mutual friend Bill Parcells) to be the rayduhs head coach after a disasterous stint in Cleveland..

Al eventually hired a no name OC named Jon Gruden...

Al may be nuts, but his HC hires have included the following:

John Madden
Jon Gruden
Mike Shanahan
Tom Flores
Norv Turner

Al Davis USED to be basically the best, yes, absativesies.

But if the Mets have taught us anything these last few years, it's that just because you were great ten years ago doesn't mean that you're great now and doesn't mean that we have to pretend you're gonna be great again tomorrow, just because you have the same name as that guy who used to be great.

His head is stuck doing the things that worked THEN not now and, also of course, he's going goddamned mad.

i know that pick at the end (or close to the end) is gonna bring out all the "peyton is a choker" stuff, but that's dumb imo

peyton tried to force a pass that just wasn't there. the big mo shifted with the on-side kick. one of the more ballsy plays in super bowl hisory, imo...

I'm happy for the Saints and New Orleans. That Brees story about the kid with cancer got me all teary eyed. He does seem like a good dude.

"Mardi Gras Party with the Lombardi" is going to be sick. Wish I was down there to witness that first hand.
