How long would a hockey player take to adjust to speed skating?

So just how long would it take for a hockey player(amateur or proffesional players) to adjust to speed skating(short track or long track)? And vice versa.(speed skating to hockey)

*Both hockey players and speed skaters use the same muscles for powerskating.

*Speed skates have more blade on ice for efficiency while hockey skates tend to have shorter blades for maneuver.

I don't know. DB Sweeney was able to go from Hockey to figure skating and win that competition with that spunky, hot-tempered lady in the early 90s.

It would take a while. While skating of course is similar, speed skaters don't have to worry about anything other than the skating aspect. They also only make left turns and their leg msucles get developed differently. Although it is not out of the ordinary for hockey players do train with speed skating coaches in the offseason to develop better explosiveness. They also train with figure skating coaches to develop better agility.
