Chicago Bears defensive end Gaines Adams died Sunday morning after he was taken to a Greenwood, S.C., emergency room, the county coroner said.

Greenwood County Coroner James T. Coursey told ESPN that Adams was taken to the emergency room at Self Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9 a.m. ET Sunday morning.

An autopsy will be performed Sunday by the Anderson County forensic pathologist, Coursey said.

Adams, 26, listed at 6-foot-5 and 256 pounds, played in college at Clemson and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft. He was traded to the Bears in October.

In 47 games over four seasons with the Bucs and Bears, Adams had 67 tackles, including 13.5 sacks.

Flozell Adams is a joke. Skill set wise, we has been one of the best OL guys in the league. He commits penalties left and right and is blatantly dirty. Troy Aikman just pisses me off too. He was explaining a single thing that Felix Jones does better than Adrian Peterson when it basically turned into Felix Jones being better than Adrian Peterson overall.

These have been pretty terrible games, except Arizona/GB last week. And so far this weekend, the favorites have all won (though there was a lot of support for Dallas).

Let's hope both things change in the Jets game. And that the Jets come out on top!

I don't know why it's so much more different being a Giants fan as opposed to a Mets and Rangers fan. I could never feel this good about a Yankee or Isle win. And while I would be gracious and congratulate a fellow friend who happens to be a fan of one of these teams, I would never find myself cheering for either of them. But I did tonight for the Jets.

A wonderfully played game that also proved to be very entertaining. Congrats to all my friends here on the Geek who are true die-hard Jets fans. May your team go all the way to the Super Bowl and shock the world just like the GMen did two seasons ago!

They won a game by three points in which they got almost every bounce their way and the Chargers kicker aka the most accurate kicker in NFL history misses all three FG attempts.

Some people just wont give the Jets any credit no matter how they win. They went into Cinn & SD and defeated two teams that had better regular season records than they did. But, they still got lucky and suck!
