Lunk,
My Dell Studio 1745 is running windows 7 and whenever I go on sites supporting video, my browser freezes. What is wrong and can I fix? It happens in Firefox, Crome and IE.

Thanks

What kind of video? My guess it's a problem with Adobe Flash. Uninstall it and then reinstall it and see what happens.

I did what you told me and it is still freezing the browser. It happens on cnn, espn, youtube, yahoo, msnbc and other places

Try getting the newest version of your graphics card driver. Uninstall the old one and then install the new one.

what program would be my graphics card? How do I know?

It's not a program per se. Chances are with a Studio, it's one of the Intel on board graphics cards. You should probably be able to find the drivers on the Dell website if you look up your computer model.

Okay, here's what you do. Click on start. In the search blank, type RUN and hit okay. In the blank that comes after that, type dxdiag and hit okay. A program should load up. Look under Display. That'll tell you what your graphics card is.

If it's an Intel 4500, click here and download this driver. (http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R228416&formatcnt=1&libid=0&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=327758)

If it's an ATI Radeon of any kind, click and download this. (http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R228422&formatcnt=1&libid=0&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=327763)

Thanks for your help Zod. It worked. Actually, the problem with the download was with firefox. I found out that was a common problem despite what Dell says. For whatever reason, the download can be done on any browser but Firefox.
