I'm already sick to my stomach.

Walk, stolen base (on a freaking lefty no less), the base hit RBI.

Great start Ollie! He's worth all 12MM huh?

Riggins/Santos (AA) ???

Pena/Gronauer (A+) Pena repeats PSL

I missed Ollie's appearance. Listening to Howie in the car, it seems like his appearance was atrocious. I guess it is reassuring that last year's injury is not hindering him from still sucking

John

It wasn't good.

He did hit 92 at one point but he was mostly in the 88/89 range.........and in typical ollie fashion was not throwing strikes at all.

Chris in Ga
03-07-2010, 02:28 PM
Alex Cora's intangibles equal suck

John

Ike is a great kid, but he's appearing to be a bit uncoordinated in the field and on the base paths...no?

Now Misch is trying to load the bases. Orr thrown out at the plate by Frenchy. The throw was awful too. Orr was out by 10 feet.

Future
03-07-2010, 03:29 PM
Frenchy, good job. That wasn't a strike. You knew it and didn't swing. The ump thought it was, but that's ok, you're learning. That ain't worth swinging at.

Future
03-07-2010, 03:32 PM
Man Misch doesn't field well. Hehe.

What did I know?

From Surfing the Mets:

Mets 6, Nats 5: Ollie throws strikes, at least »

By Adam Rubin

Oliver Perez was charged with five runs on seven hits in three innings, but he threw mostly strikes (33 in 49 pitches) and walked only one batter in a 6-5 win against the Nationals and drew a positive review from the staff.

“Outside of the obvious numbers on the board, I thought it was an extremely positive day,” pitching coach Dan Warthen said.

Said Jerry Manuel: “Ollie threw strikes. That was the main focus we had going in. We felt that if he could get some level of comfort out there and throw strikes, we would be very satisfied with the way he was going.”

WTF...Sorry, but why do they always find a way to say a guy making 12MM a year is doing ok throwing strikes...that were hittable...I can go grab about 10 minor leaguers in the backfields could can throw strikes and get the shit kicked out of them too.

John
03-07-2010, 07:48 PM
So basically its OK for him to get absolutely bombed since he was throwing strikes?

thats gonna be the motto this season.......the 2010 New York Mets........at least we threw strikes this year.

In Da Know
03-07-2010, 08:01 PM
I mean if it's hittable and flat...we have 20 guys sitting around bench that can do that....

This so pisses me off!
